“ i don't write reviews very often. this place is deserving of one for sure. the staff is very friendly, they have great kimchi, great soondubu, great banchan, great drinks, it's all great. do yourself a favor and come here for affordable food that halmoni would approve of. sodam good. ”
“ Picked up some food for lunch while in the area. Simple pre-made hot food menu display right in front of you. A good place to pick up for lunch or dinner for lazy nights. Bought the bibimbap, spicy fish cake, a plum drink, and a fish cake rolls to go. It is quick in and out. Fish cake rolls are always my fav. ”
“ Small business that's been in Dublin for YEARS. Sodam serves everything from snacks, rice cakes, hot foods, kimbap, side dishes, drinks, and frozen items, and now has a ramen station. I always enjoy getting their spicy raw marinated crab, kimbap on the go, and recently their honey rice cakes! Please be aware that rice cakes can sell out quickly if you don't go early in the morning. The staff working at the cashier are always kind and indeed welcoming. There are tables (but not much) to dine in but it's a self-service. Grab-and-go type of environment. Overall, definitely a place to try out for Korean foods. ”
“ Love the food here. We ordered the classic spread: tteokbokki, soondae, kimbap, and odeng tang. Everything was so good and reasonable for the price. Very no-nonsense cozy vibes. You order your food at the counter, pick it up, then eat at one of the tables inside. Not a lot of seating, so this place is best for pickup, but I still enjoy the cozy eating sometimes :) ”
“ This is such a hidden gem! My husband and I came an hour and a half before closing so it was kind of slim pickings. I guess a bonus though is that the hot foods were marked down 20%. I got the gobo kimbap and the tteokbokki. The kimbap could have been more flavorful but it was good and filling. The tteotbokki was so good!! The rice cakes were soft and pillowy and the sauce was rich and not too spicy. I dipped my kimbap in the tteokbokki sauce which was *chef's kiss*! Definitely will come again if I'm in need of a quick bite! ”
“ A cute little shop with a bunch of Korean snacks/desserts! We love eating the fishcake kimbap here!! So delicious for an affordable quick lunch! I like that they have a noodle station where you can buy and hear up your noodles here. I'm hoping this place still gets a lot of business before hmart opens here. Very nice and friendly workers! I would definitely come back to try their bingsoo here! ”
“ A small cozy shop with a great selection of premade Korean goodies. I can't speak for anything else other than the kimbap as I've never tried anything else yet, but that will likely change at some point because this is the closest place near my workplace for the most filling/relatively healthy/inexpensive lunch! :] Service is friendly and quick + there are a number of other ready-made foods/snacks available, as well as a variety of Korean grocery items. Prices are very reasonable! :] ”
“ I've been watching TikTok and it made me crave Korean-style sweet/dessert rice cakes. So, I decided to visit Sodam in Dublin. My first impression was the lady at the cashier was very nice and friendly. She saw me struggling to make a decision on which of the many delicious-looking rice cakes I wanted to buy. I ended up asking her about what's inside the rice cakes, and that was when she offered some samplers. That really helped me make my decision, lol, finally. So, I got two packs: Kkul Tteok or honey sesame rice cake - this rice cake was a lot firmer than the Japanese-style mochi, but it was still super delicious. I loved the filling which was made with honey and sesame seed, as the name suggests. But I wish there was more filling in each of the rice cake. Also, I thought the color on the rice cake was really beautiful and vibrant. I would get this again. Chapssal Tteok with mixed nuts fillings - the texture of this one was just as soft as Japanese style emoji, but the filling was a lot more nutty as it was made with a mixture of different types of nuts and beans, including probably walnut and mung bean. It was really delicious. And it felt decently less sweet than Japanese style mochi, which the young me would probably not like but I kind of enjoy it now. I like this one more than the honey sesame rice cake. I would definitely stop by this shop to pick up a pack or two again if I'm in the area in the future. ”
“ This is a cute mom and pop type store/restaurant. Walking in there were always a couple other customers inside roaming the few fridges and shelves with many different kimchis and other korean foods and snacks. There's a cashier straight across the entrance with a menu. My bf and I ordered a beef kimbap and tteokbokki. The cashier spoke to us in a mix of Korean and English despite my Hispanic bf and my Wasian, emphasis on the W, appearance; though honestly I felt like that added to the authenticity for me lol. The food was tasty. The portion for the tteokbokki was smaller than typical restaurants but the price reflected that, and in my opinion most takeout has too big of portion sizes anyway so I preferred this. Overall, great place would recommend if you're looking for that feeling of homemade korean food without having to make it at home. ”
